One of my favorite things to do as a travel agent is researching as much as I can for my clients. Yesterday I was fortunate enough to tour the Disney Magic Cruise Ship while it was in port in NYC and I would love to share some of the highlights!
WHEN YOU ARRIVE
Here she is! This magnificent vessel will whisk you away from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan and you will be on vacation from the moment you step onto the ship.
This the main lobby and they announce your family’s name as you board the ship – how fun is that?!
WHERE YOU SLEEP
Here are a few pictures of the staterooms available. There are various types of accommodations to fit different family sizes and budgets.
WHERE YOU EAT
There are three sit-down restaurants on the Disney Magic that will be rotated throughout your nightly dining schedule:
1) Rapunzel’s Royal Table where you will find great attention to detail from the movie Tangled and on certain nights graced with a live show.
2. Animator’s Palate where your drawings will be brought to life on screen or Mickey will visit and bring a dazzling light show to the restaurant.
3) Lumiere’s is a fine dining experience with subtle hints of Beauty and the Beast throughout the restaurant.
WHERE THE KIDS GO!
One of the biggest appeals of a Disney cruise for families are the kid’s clubs available to all age groups. Here are some snapshots of the immaculately clean kids club areas:
WHERE THE ADULTS GO!
While the kids are occupied there’s no better time for some relaxation and rejuvenation, whether it be a day pass for the spa, a specific treatment, a spa villa visit, or to get in a workout.
OUTDOOR FUN FOR EVERYONE
Outside on the desk there is something for everyone: various pools, slides, splash areas, an adult only pool, a basketball court, fussball and ping pong tables.
WHAT ELSE TO DO ON THE SHIP?
While you are sailing away on the open waters there are many fun activities outside of the kid’s clubs to keep the whole family entertained. Character meet and greets, a visit to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, going to the movie theatre, or watching a Broadway-style performance.
ADULT NIGHTLIFE
Dining without children at Palo will cost you $30 extra per person, but the restaurant is lovely and the food is delicious.
If you’re looking for more adult fun check out the After Hours section of the ship on Deck 3. This is home to three different nightclubs and lounges where after 9pm adults can grab a drink and relax without kids around.
